Pictou County Wellness Centre hosts informative open house on fracking and natural gas exploration

NEW GLASGOW – The fracking debate continued April 23 in New Glasgow.
“It’s just not right,” Catherine Hughes said. She was one of the dozens of people from across Nova Scotia who attended an information session on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) at the Pictou County Wellness Centre in New Glasgow.
Posters lined the walls of the conference room, detailing how Nova Scotia’s large, untapped natural gas reserves could help the province move off coal by 2030 and how fracking technology can make an impact.
