Dalhousie University invites industry participants to respond to the second Call for Participation. Following the close of the initial call period on April 15th, 2026, and in response to strong interest and constructive feedback from industry, the decision was made to issue a second call. This second call is intended to build on the engagement already demonstrated and to further support broad participation by qualified proponents.
The Program includes exploratory drilling and associated flow testing, engineering, and production activities, whereby Proponents submit proposed drilling locations, geological evaluations, and environmental procedures prior to operations, and subsequently assess well performance and demonstrate enhanced recovery techniques. Proponents will be eligible for reimbursement of a portion of eligible exploration well costs.

Access the Nova Scotia Onshore Data Room
Proponents are encouraged to access the Nova Scotia Department of Energy Onshore Data Room. This secure resource provides a comprehensive suite of existing geological, geophysical, and technical information to support evaluation of exploration opportunities. The Data Room is hosted on a GIS, seismic, and well workstation platform, offering valuable data for project planning and submission preparation.

Public Geological Resources
Proponents are also advised to consult the Nova Scotia Onshore Petroleum Atlas and its associated Open File Reports. These resources provide extensive geological and petroleum systems information, including regional geology, subsurface data, and resource assessment methodologies. The Atlas and reports are designed to support independent evaluation and reproducibility of interpretations and conclusions.
